By Mahmoud Mudhaffar on 01/06/2009
Gentlemen,
To the fact that the above mentioned subject might expose passengers up to 20 years prison, the Customs Authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the person of his Excellency Director General Manager of Customs in Saudi Arabia, had instructed to announce a Warning to all Saudi Citizens / Residents not to hold pirated computer software when traveling outside Saudi Arabia.
In this regard, Saudi Customs authorities ensures on all passengers to be careful and avoid holding any pirated computer software as this may expose the individual when discovered by official foreign authorities to a severe punishment by these countries and which can reach to prison for periods that vary between 5 and 20 years, and might black list those individuals in these countries because the existence of such pirated programs from its original versions being in the form of CDs or built in software inside laptops, is in contradiction with the "Inventor's Rights Protection".
The above is the translation to English of the major content of the attached article. Would kindly request you to circulate this announcement to all employees within your departments, to avoid facing such situations with any of our employees
